Frequently asked questions
What curriculum does EdQuest follow?
EdQuest is an approved IGCSE international school. Students follow a British-style international pathway from Year 1, leading to IGCSE examinations at Year 9–11. Our teaching is modular and mastery-based, and all lessons are in English.
What is the difference between Pearson Edexcel and OxfordAQA IGCSE?
Both are internationally recognised IGCSE qualifications from respected UK exam boards. At EdQuest, Media Studies, Psychology and Sociology are taken with OxfordAQA; all other subjects are Pearson Edexcel. This gives your child a wider choice of subjects, each with a leading board.
Which year groups do you offer?
We are a primary-to-secondary school, from Year 1 to Year 11. We do not offer pre-school or kindergarten.
Where are your campuses?
We have two Ipoh locations: our Falim campus (B-G-7, Kompleks Falim, Laluan Falim Indah 3, Taman Falim Indah, 30200 Ipoh) and our IGCSE Learning Centre (72A, Persiaran Medan Ipoh, Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh, 31400 Ipoh). For which year groups study at each location, contact admissions for details.
How much are the fees?
Fees are charged per term over a 4-term year: RM 3,400/term for Year 1–5, RM 3,900/term for Year 6–8 and RM 4,900/term for Year 9–11 (IGCSE). Fees exclude books, uniforms, transport, food, co-curricular activities, visits, external exam fees and taxes. See the full fee schedule.
Do you offer scholarships or financial help?
Yes. An Academic Merit Scholarship offers up to 30% fee reduction for qualifying students at entry assessment, and a means-tested Financial Assistance Bursary is assessed case by case in full confidentiality.
How do I apply?
Our admissions process has six simple steps: Enquire, Consultation, Assessment, Offer, Enrol and Welcome. The initial consultation is free. Start by WhatsApping our admissions team on 010-253 9817.
Does my child need to sit an entrance test?
There is no specific academic requirement for entry. We carry out our own initial assessment to understand where your child is, and place them by competency and readiness.
Can my child transfer from a national or another international school?
Yes. We assess your child's current level and place them in the right module so no time is wasted.
How do you support children with special educational needs?
Our RISE Centre for SEN learners is coming soon. Register your interest or speak to our admissions team about your child's needs.
What are the school hours?
For daily school hours for primary and secondary, contact admissions for details.
Do you provide school transport?
For transport availability and areas served, contact admissions for details. Note that transport is not included in tuition fees.
